- In a different time where no outer gods threatened to ravage the lands with their ill-directed wrath,
- life for Elysia and its surrounding neighbors was peaceful—pockmarked only by petty squabbles over land, and occasional barbarian tribes.
- The Elysian royal family has ruled with a just and fair hand for generations, with King Radmuhl currently seated upon the throne.
- Crown Prince Gortius, a stalwart man of twenty-five winters, has shown the iron strength of his father,
- while his sister Estia, a soft-spoken young princess of fifteen, was allowed to pursue her studies in the healing arts.
- Though the undisputed heir to Elysia's throne, the crown prince was far more interested in leading the military than the court.
- The latest in a string of skirmishes all along the Northern seas have led Gortius to personally helm an army
- to the edges of their empire to evict the invading pirates.
- The Elysian fleet braved the treacherous waves of the Howling Break where the Northern pirates dared to test the strength of their borders.
- Among them, one woman stood out—a brilliant and brave commander by the name of Miriam.
- Although she was half-Alethi, an arcane magic-wielding people viewed with thinly veiled suspicion,
- her Elysian father allowed her a position in the royal army, where the crown prince himself fell head over heels in love with.
- This is where their tumultuous romance begins—in the eye of a storm.

—The Howling Break
- Gortius: Commander. How are preparations?
- Miriam: The army is assembled and waiting, my lord.
- Gortius: Excellent. Stand by until I give the signal.
- Gortius glances around before taking a step closer to Miriam.
- Gortius: The final phase of our offensive is in but an hour. This will be our last push against the pirates.
- Gortius: Are you prepared?
- Miriam: I am always prepared.
- Gortius: Elysia is proud to have the service of a dutiful and loyal soldier such as yourself, Commander.
- Gortius: Truly an admirable paragon among our ranks.
- Miriam: This is not the most appropriate time for outright flattery, my lord.
- Gortius: Mm...There are some words worth saying now, before it's too late.
- Gortius: ...Truth be told, I wanted to see you before dispatch.
- Gortius: I would part the seas to find you if anything untoward happened.
- A small, shy smile blooms on Miriam's face as Gortius gently holds her hands—a chaste show of affection.
- Miriam: Then, my lord, I suggest we win.
- Gortius: Ha! You're delightful.
- The two share a tender moment before stepping back to a more respectable distance.
- Along the shores, the Elysian fleet is lined up in a somber, intimidating wall.

- Their previous clashes had managed to push the pirates back from their initial foothold in the Lowlands,
- and with their flagship, the Queenswrath, helming the fleet, even the pirates' self-appointed leader must bow to their might.
- With a grave nod at his captain, Gortius issues the order, and crosses the gangplank.
- A rousing horn breaks across the gloom of the early morning fog, and the Crown Prince raises his sword to the sky.
- Gortius: May the Light guide us unto victory. We sail!
